Mary L. North's Obituary
A funeral service for Mary L. North, 82 of Newark will be held Saturday October 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. North died Monday September 29, 2014 at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 22, 1932 in Crooksville, Ohio to the late Harold R. and Virginia (Campbell) Hoy.
She retired as the head baker at Licking Memorial Hospital with 26 years of service. She was a Past Madam President of Newark Eagles Lodge # 387. She was a member of Newark Post # 85 American Legion Auxiliary. She professionally baked and decorated cakes for many years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Raymond “Stan” (Jan) North of St. Louisville, Patricia (Terry) Loughman, Sr., Brenda (Cline) Estep, Dawn (Bill) Fagnan all of Newark; grandchildren, Mike (Heather) North of Texas, Krista (Jim) Miller of Pickerington, Tammy (Bob) Brooks, Terry (Abby) Loughman, Jr., Cortney Estep, Paige Estep, Ryan Fagnan, Nathan Fagnan, Levi Fagnan all of Newark; eight great-grandchildren; dear friend, Malis Hayes of Newark.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years John H. North on January 30, 2005; sister Norma Thompson; children, Harold “Rick” North, Aura Jane North and four grandchildren.
Calling hours will be observed Friday, October 3, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
