Mary Lou Knighton's Obituary
A funeral service for Mary Lou Knighton, 81 of Heath will be held Tuesday January 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Bartlette officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Knighton died Saturday January 19, 2013 at Grant Medical Center. She was born August 12, 1931 in Newark to the late Lyman and Edith (Lyle) Snelling.
Her family was her greatest joy in life. She especially enjoyed telling her grandchildren stories. She was happy spending hours at home working crossword puzzles and watching game shows. She was formerly involved in bowling leagues. She also delighted in the companionship of her pets.
She is survived by her children, Karen (Dean) Smith of Plain City, Rick Knighton of Johnstown, Gary (Becky) Knighton of Dayton, Steve Knighton of Newark and Gregg Knighton of Heath; eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Knighton, Sr. on May 17, 1991; sons, Robert W. Knighton, Jr. in 1987, Glenn M. Knighton in 2003; brother, Harold Snelling; sister, Martha Jane Snelling.
Calling hours will be observed Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
The family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
