Mary Ann McCafferty's Obituary
Mary Ann McCafferty, 86, of Frazeysburg, died Tuesday morning, January 30, 2024, at Primrose Retirement Community, Zanesville.
Born November 29, 1937 in Dresden, Ohio, a daughter of the late John Wendell and Bonnie Jean (Gist) Longaberger and a 1955 graduate of Jefferson High School. Mary Ann worked as an assembler at Diebold, was a Methodist by faith and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are four sons, Ronald (Melissa) Schumacher of Glenford, OH, Jeffrey (Susie) Schumacher of Westerville, OH, Donald (Cheri) Schumacher of Newark, OH and James (Kris) Schumacher of Gahanna, OH; two stepsons, Kim (Cheryl) McCafferty of Pleasantville, OH, Tom (Ruth) McCafferty of Somerset, OH; four grandchildren, Brandon (Ally) Schumacher, Randall (Whitney) Schumacher, Eric Schumacher and Olivia Schumacher; two great grandsons, William and Brody Schumacher; five siblings, Jerry, Richie, Jeff, Gary and Wendy; six step grandchildren; and twelve step- great grandchildren;.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell "Buck" McCafferty; four sisters, Genevieve Hard, Judy Swope, Virginia Wilcox, and Carmen Fortney; and two brothers, Larry and Dave Longaberger.
A caring cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Mary Ann will take place at a later date.
Mary Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband, Buck at the Dresden Cemetery.
