Marvin Andrew Veyon's Obituary
A celebration of life for Marvin Andrew Veyon, 87 of Newark will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday May 30, 2026 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home | Newark.
Marvin died Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born November 17, 1938 in Zanesville to the late Arthur Veyon and Kathryn L. (Gooding) Dickson.
Known to many as "Red", Marvin was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired as a department manager from Big Bear Stores. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, and a family that was the center of his world. A stubborn redhead through and through. Marvin was known for his determination, strong spirit and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. Beneath that stubborn exterior was a man with a big heart who treasured family, friendship and the simple joys of life. He enjoyed music, golfing, camping, gardening, spending time with family and traveling with his wife of nearly 50 years, Donna J. Veyon.
He is survived by his daughters, Elonna K. (Michael) Ambrus, Marcia L. (Michael) Toomey and Heather R. (James) Helle; grandchildren, Andrew, Eric, Emily and Nathan Ambrus, Shawna (Morgan) Beam, Sarah Williams, Zackary (Brittney Coonrod) and Alec (Mikaela) Perdue; great grandchildren, Lazarus and Ira Beam, Elizabeth and Georgia Williams, Milo Perdue and Amelia and Aria Linder; sisters in-law, Darlene (Michael) Watts and Carla S. Colborn; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Donna Jean Veyon; his brothers, Richard, Donald (Shirley) and James Veyon; and his sisters, Wanda (Bernie) Lindamood and Bonnie Ford.
Marvin's family will remember his strength, humor, and most of all the love he shared throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
