Marjorie L. McConnell's Obituary
A funeral service for Marjorie L. McConnell, 80 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2021 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Burdick officiating. Burial will be at Newark Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Mrs. McConnell passed away Monday evening, March 1, 2021 at her home. She was born October 23, 1940 in Senecaville, OH to the late Hiram and Virgil (Hall) Hollingshead. A graduate of Newark High School, Mrs. McConnell retired from Sears where she worked in the Service Department. She had attended Community Wesleyan Church. Mrs. McConnell enjoyed art, crafting and sewing. Most of all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Paula (Jim) Hughes of Newark, Julie (Tony) Warden of Missouri City, TX; sons, Larry (Brenda) Miller of Thornville, Jeff Miller of Newark; sisters, Joyce (L.J.) McCreary and Esther (Bill) Chapel; a brother, Everett (Judy) Hollingshead; grandchildren, April, Jeramya, Danielle, Joey, Cody, Lyndsi, Jessica and Tyler; 9 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McConnell was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Miller; second husband, Paul McConnell; and four brothers, John Hollingshead, Jerry Hollingshead, Hiram “Bing” Hollingshead, Jr. and Ronald “Lefty” Hollingshead.
