Marjorie E. Bonifield's Obituary
Marjorie E. Bonifield, 88, of Dresden, died Saturday afternoon, October 15, 2022 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born May 6, 1934 in Zanesville she was a daughter of the late Hugh R. and Kathryn L. (Riley) Spiker and was a 1952 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Marjorie was first a homemaker, later she worked in the cafeteria at Jefferson Elementary School where she retired. She was a long-time member of the Dresden Madison Presbyterian Church; an honorary member of the Dresden Old Steam & Gas Club and a member of the Eastern Star. Marjorie enjoyed watching NASCAR, golf, and football but she especially enjoyed going for car rides with her special friend Bill Knupp and looking at the scenery.
Surviving are her children, Michael (Darlene) Bonifield, of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Betsy Scurlock of Dresden; grandchildren, Paul Bonifield, Jena Bonifield, Kyle (Stacy) Scurlock, and Kendra (Lance) Patton; great grandchildren, Allison and Colton Scurlock and Landon Patton with one on the way; a sister, Martha J. Miller and her very special friend, Bill Knupp.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Bonifield, who died May 3, 1990.
Friends and family may call Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Dresden Madison Presbyterian Church, 808 High Street.
A funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Reverend Darla Revennaugh officiating. Marjorie will be laid to rest in Dresden Cemetery.
