Margaret E. Morgan's Obituary
A funeral service for Margaret E. Morgan, 82 of Newark will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home | Newark with Cory Campbell officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Fairmount Cemetery.
Margaret passed away February 16, 2026 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. She was born February 4, 1944 in Johnstown, OH to the late Howard and Grace (Sheron) Painter. A 1962 graduate of Lakewood High School, Margaret worked for many years at Park National Bank and retired from Newark Health Imaging.
Along with her husband, Virgil, Margaret was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders, Legend Valley Riders, Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Moose Lodge.
She is survived by her children, Mindy (Rita) Morgan, Kim Garven, Patricia Wampler and John (Ashley) Morgan; grandchildren, Christopher (Jenny) Morgan, Adrian, Andalucia, Jakob, Andrew, and Abigail; great grandchildren, Zayden, Ava, Raven, and Harley Garven; brothers, Curt (Gerri) Painter; Phil (Jo) Painter; and sisters in-law, Sharron Painter and Shirley Painter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil L. Morgan; brothers, John Sheron, Pappy Painter, Bill Painter, Dick Painter and Jim Painter.
Friends and family may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
