Mahala "Hali" Mitchell's Obituary
A funeral service for Mahala “Hali” M. Mitchell, 30 of Newark will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Christian Apostolic Church, 22 N. 23rd Street with Pastor G. Keith Sjostrand officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Hali died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born October 8, 1981 in Newark to Kameron and Cindy K. (Thornton) Mitchell of Newark.
Hali was employed as a medical assistant with Allied Pain Treatment Center in Columbus. She was currently attending Everest College and had earned a 4 point average with honors during the last grading period. She was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church. She was a 1998 graduate of Midwest Christian Academy and had played in the school basketball program. She was an avid animal lover. She especially liked horses and befriended many strays. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she is survived by grandparents, Jan Thornton of Newark, Dean Marvin Mitchell of Mansfield; children, Hayden Gibson and Aryauna Mitchell of Newark; sister, Brittani Hill of Newark; nephews, Kameron Hill, Brock Hill; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be observed Monday 5 to 8 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
