Luella G. Simpson's Obituary
Luella G. Simpson, 91, of Nashport, Ohio died Wednesday morning December 13, 2023, at her home.
Born February 21, 1932, in Bolivar, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Kermit and Ola Mae (Scanlon) Binkley and a 1951 graduate of Toboso High School. Luella worked in the produce department at Big Bear and retired after 48 years of service. She was a past member of the Black Run Church of God and had more recently been attending Life Change Church in Newark. Luella enjoyed crocheting, watching game shows, and caring for her family farm but what she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family.
Surviving are her five grandchildren, Lloyd "J.R." W. (Bethany) Simpson, Jr. of Toboso, James Simpson of Obetz, Natasha Simpson of Newark, Yolanda Simpson of West Virginia and Stephanie Simpson of Newark; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister, Rosella Prince of Thornville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Homer G. Simpson, whom she married in 1953 and who died May 5, 1958; a son, Lloyd W. Simpson, Sr. and a brother, Leo Wayne Binkley.
A graveside funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 15, 2023 at Hanover Cemetery, Rock Haven Road NE, Newark, OH 43055, with Pastor Corbin Huffman officiating.
