Linda A. Baxter's Obituary
A graveside funeral service for Linda A. Baxter, 76 of Newark will be held Saturday June 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Wilson Cemetery with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating.
Mrs. Baxter died Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born November 20, 1938 in Newark to John W. and Mary (Ellis) Smith.
Linda has been employed for the past 13 years with Arensberg Pharmacy. She is retired with 45 years of experience in the banking community. She had started with Licking County Building and Savings upon graduation from Newark High School. She later worked with First National Bank, BancOhio and National City. Linda was a sports fanatic. She was a fan for the Ohio teams; Browns, Indians, Reds and especially the Buckeyes. She was also an avid animal lover.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John David Baxter; brother-in-law, Willard Tunis (Donna) Baxter of Florida; sisters-in-law, Chong Baxter of Gahanna, Ilene Smith of New Mexico; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Smith; brothers-in-law, Dean Baxter and Robert Baxter.
Calling hours will be observed Friday, June 12, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Chapel, VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
