Leslie Wade Williamson's Obituary
A funeral service for Leslie Wade Williamson, 82 of Newark will be held Monday November 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Heath 525 S. 30th Street, Heath with Pastor Wally McLaughlin and Pastor Noel Dear officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Williamson passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born December 13, 1931 in Dyersburg, TN to Lester Guy Williamson and Ellen Williamson - Irene.
He retired from C W Transport as a truck driver in 1986 with 30 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Heath and Teamsters Local 413 in Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel (Presley) Williamson; daughters, Carol S. (Tim) Gienger of Heath, Mary A. Petty of Newark; step-son, Jimmy (Kelly) Butler of Dyersburg, TN; grandchildren, Heather (Jay) Morrow of Heath, Ryan (Jenny) Comisford of Heath, Leslie (Greg) Kraning of Newark, Dustin (Erron Allen) Williamson of Ashland, KY, DJ Williamson of Newark, Kaysie (Eric) Snodgrass of Newark, Maggie Gienger of Hackensack, NJ; great-grandchildren, Austin Morrow, Zachary Morrow, Kyleia Williamson, Laila Snodgrass, Harper Snodgrass; sisters, Mary Ellen Ryan of Bellrose, NY, Sarah (Larry) Edwards of St. Petersburg, FL; brother, Bill (Doris) Williamson of Newark; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Margaret A. Williamson; son, Dennis Wade Williamson; step-son, David Butler; twin brother, Wilton R. Williamson.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
