Leo C. Crabtree's Obituary
A funeral service for Leo C. Crabtree, 61 of Byhalia, MS formerly of Newark will be held Saturday June 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Newark chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will be in Glen Rest Memorial Estates, Reynoldsburg.
Mr. Crabtree died Thursday June 14, 2018 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was born December 21, 1956 in Columbus to Ishimel L. Crabtree of Thornville and the late Esther (Morris) Crabtree.
Mr. Crabtree retired after 20 plus years with Exel Logistics and recently was employed with FedEx. Leo enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and hiking. He was interested in history and astronomy. He cared for all animals and had several house pets. He was an avid OSU football fan. He liked building models. His favorite pastime was spending time with family.
In addition to his father he is survived by two children, Autumn (Brad) Spicer of Thornville, Andrew (Amanda Marvin) Crabtree of Newark; grandchildren, Noah, Adam, Alivia, Anna; He has shared the past eight years with Lynette Hughes of Byhalia and her family.
Calling hours will be observed Saturday one hour prior to services from 9 am to 10 am at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street.
The family requests memorial contributions to the Licking County Humane Society 825 Thornwood Drive, Heath, OH 43056.
