Lawrence Sylvester Weber's Obituary
A funeral service for Lawrence Sylvester Weber, 93 of Heath will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Chaplain Mark Pierce officiating. Burial will be at Wilson Cemetery with the Licking County Veterans Alliance providing Military Funeral Honors.
Mr. Weber died Friday, March 14, 2014 at Kindred of Newark. He was born September 7, 1920 in Lewisville, Ohio to the late David H. and Clara M. (Yoho) Weber. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Weber worked as a barber and finishing carpenter. He was a member of Center Star Lodge #11 F & AM, Heath; and First Baptist Church, Newark.
Survivors include his daughter, Diana (Paul “Dobie”) Simpson of Lake Forrest, IL.; a son, Larry (Cheri) Weber of Newark; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl (Helen) Weber of Newark.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret L. (Tipton) Weber, whom he married August 14, 1941 and who died January 27, 2012; an infant son, Neal Evan; 4 brothers and three sisters.
Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dawes Arboretum or Zerger Hall; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
