Laberta "Bertie" Swinehart's Obituary
Laberta M. Swinehart, 89 of Columbus died Thursday March 5, 2015 at Friendship Village Health Center. Born June 6, 1925 in Crooksville, OH to the late Frank K. and Genevieve (Russell) Williams.
She was an active member of Linden Lutheran Church for 62 years serving in many ministries. She was a licensed Realtor and operated the Tole House Craft Store. She enjoyed bowling and participated in many local leagues. She was involved in the Via De Cristo Organization. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by seven children, Marjorie Stone, Frank (Dorothy) Swinehart, Debbie (Jack) Manter, Ronnie Swinehart, Paula (John) Gozs, Genevieve “Gigi” (Alan) Nusbaum and Don Swinehart; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Chute, Darlene Bookman; brother, Virgil Williams; sister-in-law, Sally Williams; many nieces and nephews including Phillip (Pat) Swinehart.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Paul V. Swinehart, whom died May 8, 2010; sister, Bonnie Studer; brother, Ronald Williams; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald & Ruth Swinehart.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday March 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Schoedinger-North Chapel, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus.
Funeral services will be held at Linden Lutheran Church, 1230 Oakland Park Avenue Monday March 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor G. Karl Gaston officiating. Burial will be in Blendon Central Cemetery.
