Kenneth G. Forrer's Obituary
A funeral service for Kenneth G. Forrer, 91 of Newark will be held Friday November 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Libert officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. Military services will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Mr. Forrer died Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 2, 1922 in Rittman, Ohio to the late Homer and Mary (Castor) Forrer.
He retired from the Newark Air Force Base in 1977 as a metrology engineer for guidance systems. He served from 1943-45 in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and Rittman High School.
Survivors include his two sons, Doug (Judy) Forrer of Heath, Greg (Betsy) Forrer of Newark, sister, Jerrine (Harold) Libert of Union City, Ind.; five grandchildren, Josh (Jen) Forrer of Heath, Andy Forrer of Heath, Mike (Nicki) Forrer of Newark, Angie (Kris) Ray of Heath, Brad (Jenny) Keene of MD.; great grandchildren, Noah Forrer, Vivian Forrer, Cooper Ray, Natalie Ray.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis J. (Champlin) Forrer on June 2, 2013; daughter, Karen Keene on Sept. 28, 2012.
Calling hours will be observed Friday, November 22, 2013 from 11 am to 1 pm at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
