Kathy L. Sherman's Obituary
A memorial service celebrating the life of Kathy L. Sherman, 66 of Newark will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Lisa Willey officiating.
Kathy passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at The James Cancer Hospital, Columbus, OH. She was born November 5, 1949 in Newark to the late Carl E. and Alice V. (Inlow) Street.
A 1967 graduate of Newark High School, Kathy recently retired from the Newark City Schools where she had most recently worked as Transportation Secretary. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great joy in helping others and loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her children, Kelly Sherman of Newark, Sara (Jimmy) Cunningham of Heath, Brian (Kim) Sherman of Newark; grandchildren, Nicole (Justin) Leffew, Alyx John, Jake Sherman, Peyton Sherman, Ali Scott, Abigail Scott and Andrew Scott; a great-grandson, Cohen Hamann; a sister, Debbie (Joe) Snelling; and her former spouse, Dan Sherman.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Johnson.
Friends and family may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main St., Newark.
