Kathleen A. Cottrell's Obituary
A funeral service for Kathleen A. Cottrell, 82 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Vensil & Chute | Newark with Pastor Steven Hughes and Brian Grove officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Alexandria.
Mrs. Cottrell passed away January 8, 2026 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born July 22, 1943 in Newark, OH to the late Ralph and Mary (Ohler) Magers.
A graduate of Utica High School, Mrs. Cottrell worked as a Home Health Aid for most of her career. She was a member of Newark Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Tracy Cottrell-Morris, Trina (Joseph) Brown, all of Newark; brothers, Dan (Judy) Magers, Mike (Roberta) Magers and Terry (Connie) Magers; a stepson, Thomas W. Cottrell; and a special life friend, Chuck Johnson; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry L. Cottrell.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 11a.m to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vensil & Chute | Newark, 1850 W. Main Street.
