Kandy S. Shumate's Obituary
A memorial service for Kandy S. Wright-Shumate 43 of Newark will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday September 9, 2017 at the Alive Vineyard of Licking County, 7602 Stewart Road NE with Pastor Steven Osborne officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of services.
Kandy died Wednesday August 23, 2017 at her residence. She was born February 10, 1974 in Newark.
Kandy attended the Alive Vineyard of Licking County, she enjoyed making crafts for the different holidays and loved her family.
She is survived by her mother, Jacquelyn S. (Stalling) Overbey; father and step-mother, Donald W. (Joyce A.) Wright; sons, Tyler L. Shumate, Jordan L. Shumate all of Newark; granddaughter, Laylynn Renae Ann Shumate; brother, Joseph L. Wright and Trish Allen of Columbus; step-brothers, Brian C. Nelson, Roger L. Nelson and Debra all of Newark; several nieces and nephews including, Leauna Allen, Andrew M. Nelson, Ashley N. Morningstar, Jarrett F. Nelson, Cody L. Nelson, Felicia D. Nelson; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Willard E. & Emma J. Wright, Hershell and Phyllis Stalling, Charles & Ethel Gleckler and Minnie Gleckler.
The family requests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
