Julius Perry SR was born March 1st, 1941 In Covington, GA to the late John Henry Perry and Lena Bell (Mark) Perry. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2012.
Mr. Perry retired in 2002 from Consolidated Freightways as a safety inspector with 25 years of service. He had also been employed at Kaiser Aluminum for 16 year. In his retirement he enjoyed scouting out yard sales, flea markets and walking the aisle of his favorite store, Wal-Mart. Mr. Perry and his wife enjoyed traveling the world together. He will be remembered for his ability to entertain with childhood stories and being an avid card player.
Julius Perry SR. is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Emma Lou Norwood; brothers, John Henry Perry, Jr., James Perry, Thomas Perry and Melvin Perry.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories a loving family, his wife of 45 years, Althia M. (Benton) Perry; children, Julius C. Perry, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Veronica “Molly” Luttery of Columbus, Letitia (Kenneth) Jones of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Brittany (Jazz) Mitchell, Tenika Perry, Julius, Luttery, Fredtasia Luttery, Brandon Perry, Kaia Jones; great grandchildren, Cornell Mitchell, Danasia Williams; sisters, Brunetta Gaither and Dorothy Franklin both of Covington, GA; brother, Paul Perry of Covington, GA; Mother-in-law, Bertha Benton; sisters-in-laws, Millie Perry of Covington, GA, Rosie Perry of Atlanta, GA, Mary James of Conyers, GA.; brothers-in-laws, Cornelius (Maryann) Benton of Newark, Linton Benton of Atlanta, GA; and a host of family members.
