Judy A. Byrd's Obituary
A celebration of life service for Judy A. Byrd, 70 of Newark will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday October 27, 2018 in the sanctuary of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 383 Washington Street with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Noble, Sr. officiating. Calling hours will be observed at the church from 9:00 a.m. until services. She will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery following the service.
Ms. Byrd passed away Monday October 22, 2018 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born June 15, 1948 to Robert Henry Hadnot and Lessie Mae Bryant.
Judy was employed by the Catholic Social Services and was involved in the Meals on Wheels program. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She served as a youth Sunday school teacher, member of SMBC Senior Choir and as an usher. She was also active in local democratic party events and nationally traveling to The White House with the Stand Up for Ohio and Grass Roots group.
Survivors include her children; LaDonna Terrisena (Carl) Nelms of Dublin, Tyler Eugene Bryant of Columbus, Vernon Leon Johnson, Jr. of Gahanna, Raquel Marie Rhodman of Newark, Lucretia Lynn (Arthur) Diggs of Hebron, KY, Pamela Jean Kalay of Philadelphia, PA; siblings, Delores Reynolds, Loretta Jackson, Willie Hadnot all of Cincinnati, Harold Hadnot, Ronald Hadnot both of Columbus, Michael Hadnot, Monica Hadnot, Katherine Hadnot all of Newark; God sisters, Donna Shaw, Eleanor Shanklin both of Newark; fifteen grandchildren; Brandy LaShon Nelms, Sadruan Jamal Smith, Olivia Cha-Lyn Smith, Courvoisier Chavez Roman Smith, Arnee Lace Diggs, Arizona Nicole Diggs, Arthur Norman Diggs, Jr., Jonathan Pullins all of Columbus, Frenchelle Patrice Nelms (Antonio) of Atlanta, GA, Jalika Blair Bickle, Alexis Johnson, Makayla Johnson, Brittany Price, Willie Shaw, Halla Ann Holsapple, Eleanor Howell all of Newark; host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Delphina Bryant, Leon Hadnot; grandson, James-Robert Maurice Bryant,I.
