Judith L. Smith's Obituary
A funeral service for Judith L. “Judy” (Hoy) Athey-Heskett-Smith will be held Monday December 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Gus Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Judy died Tuesday December 13, 2016 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born March 19, 1943 in Newark to Neil D. Hoy and Mabel T. (Jones) Hoy-Hughes.
She had been employed by Callander Cleaners, 21st Super Duper and most recently with Bathfitters.
She was a member and baptized at Licking Valley Church of Christ. She was a member of Newark Eagles # 387. She was a loving outgoing person with a special place in her heart for animals.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Smith, whom she married October 8, 2008; daughter, Julia Lorraine Athey-Huffman of Hilliard; son, Terry Lynn Athey, II of Newark; grandsons, Terry Lynn Athey, III, David Athey; step-children, Kellie Smith of Newark, Tonya (Kevin) Ohde of St. Louisville, Scott Smith of Newark; sister-in-law, Connie Miller of Pataskala.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Heskett; son Tracy Lane Athey; brothers, Robert Hoy and William Hoy.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday December 18, 2016 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
The family requests memorial contributions to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, OH 43058-0430. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
