Judith "Jo" Ralston's Obituary
Judith “Jo” Ralston passed away on August 30, 2015. She was born April 24, 1921 in Sciotoville, Ohio to Stephen and Norma (Coburn) Stewart. She graduated from Portsmouth High School and Portsmouth Business College in 1939. The same year she married Roy Ralston and to this union was born four children, Norma, Hannah, Christopher and Julie.
In 1952 the family moved to Columbus. Jo worked at North American Rockwell for many years. She later worked for the Department of Interior as an interviewer. In 1968 the family built a home in Licking County. She had many friends and was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, Review Club, Monday Talks and several bridge clubs. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a former member of Highwater Church and Liberty Church.
Surviving are Norma Schirtzinger; her children, Lora (Mike) and their children, Trent (Stephanie) their children Abigail and Paige; Ryan (Kristen) and their twins Colton and Landon; Joanna (Pete) and their children, Evan and Caelan; Larry (Annette) and their children Gerrod, Joshua and Christina; Eric (Kristi) and his daughter Taylor; Hannah (Art) Hunt and their children Rich (Julie) and their children Mitchell and Evy; Carrie (John) and their children Kyleen and Jenna; Chris (Carol) Ralston and their children Lucas, and his daughter Yael, and Kathleen; Julie (Denny) Davis and their children Lauren and Natalie (Steve) and their children Adeline and Eliza.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Roy Ralston in 2001.
Funeral services will be held Friday September 4, 2015 at the Centenary United Methodist Church 102 E. Broadway, Granville, Ohio at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Long officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg, Ohio. Visitation will be observed Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 4 to 8 pm at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
