Joseph L. Wright's Obituary
A celebration of life service for Joseph L. “Joey” Wright, 41 of Columbus will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main St. Newark with Darnell Hines, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Joey passed away on July 7, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio. He was born June 23, 1977 in Newark, Ohio.
He was employed by Sewing Collections, Inc. He was a graduate of Licking County Joint Vocational School. He had participated with Newark High Football. When he was younger he enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with his dad and grandpa. He watched NASCAR and the Ernhardt’s were his favorite drivers. He was a caring, sensitive and religious individual and valued his time spent with his family.
Survivors include his mother, Jacquelyn S. (Stalling) Overbey of Newark; father, Donald W. (Joyce A.) Wright of Newark; his companion, Latisha Allen of Columbus; daughter, Leauna Simone Allen-Wright of Columbus; step-brothers, Brian Nelson, Rodger Nelson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kandy S. Wright-Shumate; step-father, William A. Overbey; grandparents, Willard & Ethel Wright, Emma Jean Wright, Hershell & Phyllis Stalling, Donald & Harlene Marriott; great-grandparents, Charles & Minnie Gleckler.
