John H. Stickle's Obituary
A funeral service for John H. Stickle, 54 of Newark will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Mershimer officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
John died unexpectedly Monday, April 30, 2018 at his home. He was born December 5, 1963 in Newark to the late Howard J. Stickle and June L. (Ashcraft) Stickle of Newark, who survives.
A 1982 graduate of Newark High School, John worked as a Builder. He enjoyed sports, and was a talented athlete. He loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter and his mother. Throughout the years when he was a residential custom builder, his daughter would be on site with him from a young age and he would glow as he helped her build bird houses and as she would call them “cat hotels" for their cat Sox. He was an animal lover and would do anything for his daughter. Throughout the years, John enjoyed family dinners with his daughter Sam and his former wife, Melissa Stevens. He also enjoyed going out to eat with his mother, which meant so much to June.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Samantha Stickle; sisters, Jeane Crumrine and Jenny (Robin) Cross; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
