John E. Hollingshead's Obituary
A funeral service for John E. Hollingshead, 78 of Newark will be held Saturday January 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Newark Church of the Nazarene, 200 S. Williams Street with Pastor Jenn Ballanger officiating. A private family burial ceremony will take place at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hollingshead died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. Mr. Hollingshead was born October 24, 1936 in Senecaville, Ohio to the late Hiram and Virgil (Hall) Hollingshead.
Mr. Hollingshead owned and operated Holly’s Wholesale and Holly’s Custom Print. He attended the Newark Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorthy (Hummel) Hollingshead; children, Debra Jean (Tom) Dehmann, John Michael (Angela) Hollingshead, Steven Curtis Hollingshead, Christopher Bradley (Michele) Hollingshead all of Newark; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Everett (Judy) Hollingshead of Newark; sisters, Marjorie McConnell of Newark, Joyce (Larry) McCreary of Newark, Esther (Bill) Chapel of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Peggy Hollingshead of Newark; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald E. “Lefty” Hollingshead, Hiram “Bing” (Evelyn) Hollingshead, Jr., Jerry (Marjorie) Hollingshead.
Calling hours will be observed from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church 200 S. Williams Street.
