Jean Marie Hardy's Obituary
A funeral service for Jean Marie Hardy, 82 of Newark will be held Monday May 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Dave Mason officiating.
Jean died Wednesday April 26, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born September 21, 1934 in Newark to Paul Leo and Edna Pearl (Stewart) Snoor.
Jean was a 1952 graduate of Newark High School. She was a former realtor for Frame Realty and had been employed by Time Warner and retired in 2004 at J.C. Penney. She belonged to several euchre and bridge card clubs. She enjoyed crafts including sewing and cross-stitching. Reading was a favorite leisure time activity. Her greatest pleasure in life was her family especially caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Christina Neumeyer of Newark, Kimberly (Galen) Darnes of Heath; grandchildren, Ryan James Neumeyer, Amelia Marie Neumeyer, Tanner Galen Darnes, Tabitha Ann Darnes; sisters, Carolyn Masters of Cincinnati, Mary (George) Hannum of Heath; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert P. (Joyce) Snoor, brother-in-law, James Masters.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday April 30, 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
The family requests memorial contributions to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio P.O. Box 430 Newark, OH 43058-0430. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
