James L. Saunders' Obituary
A memorial service for James L. Saunders, 72 of Newark will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Shaeffer officiating.
Mr. Saunders (Jim) died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born in Newark to Wilbur L. and Ann E. (McKim) Saunders.
Mr. Saunders was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a former resident of Manchester, TN for 27 years. He attended the University of Tennessee receiving bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, master’s degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering, PHD in both mechanical and electrical engineering. He had been employed at several companies performing research & development projects. He was employed & retired from Yorozu Company, TN.
He is survived by two sisters, Linda (Grant) Ferree of Columbus, Joyce (Cecil) Fields of Galloway; nieces and nephew Kelly Fields of Akron, Kristin (Troy) Blevins of Columbus, Tim (Kathy) Ferree of Macedona; great nieces and nephews, Madelyn Ferree, Danielle Ferree, Sean Blevins, Michael Blevins & Justin Blevins.
Visitation will be observed Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
Jim’s family are grateful for the medical & caring treatment provided by Dr. F. Awan & his nurses at the Oncology Dept. at The James Cancer Hospital and all the staff who cared for Jim during his many hospital treatments there.
The family requests memorial contributions to the James Cancer Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
