Helen Elizabeth McCann's Obituary
Helen Elizabeth McCann, 89, of Nashport, Ohio died Thursday morning, January 26, 2012 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital emergency room.
Born December 27, 1922 in Toboso, Ohio she was a daughter of the late John E. and Cora (Brill) Hewitt and was a graduate of Toboso High School. She also was a graduate of Beautician’s School and was a retired self-employed beautician at Nashport. Mrs. McCann was a member of the Nashport-Irville United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving is her husband of 71 years, Joseph D. McCann whom she married in 1940; two sons, Douglas D. (Maxine) McCann of Beaver, Ohio and Larry E. McCann of Nashport; a brother Johnny (Margaret) Hewitt of Sandusky, Ohio; a sister, Laura Jean Edwards of Nashport and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Weldon, Ray and Kenneth Hewitt and a sister, Betty Sharkey.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, January 30, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Irville Cemetery.
