Glenna O. Bennett's Obituary
A funeral service for Glenna O. Bennett, 80 of Newark will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Bennett died Saturday at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born September 16, 1933 in Palestine, West Virginia to the late Pearl and Estle (Lockhart) Wigal.
Mrs. Bennett had been employed at Sears and 18 years as the manager of Jeff’s Laundromat. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, gardening and mushroom hunting. At home she was a seamstress, cook and baker. She and her husband traveled to Florida for several winters. She was an avid Bingo player. Spending time with her family was very important.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell G. Bennett of 54 years; daughter, Lutrecia Justice of Newark; sisters, Ida Mace of McArthur, Patricia Barkey of Canal Winchester; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Marie Corbin, Juanita McCune, Nellie Hall; brothers; Edward Wigal and Everett “Bud” Wigal.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Newark Chapel of VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
