Gladys A. Bowen's Obituary
A funeral service for Gladys A. Bowen, 73 of Heath will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 1p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mrs. Bowen died Monday November 26, 2012 at her residence. She was born November 11, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio to the late George W. and Nellie Faye (Rader) Purvis.
She was retired from Diebold with over 20 years of service. She had also worked for Exel Logistics. She had attended Plymouth Church. She was an avid OSU football fan. She loved her pets, having dogs and cats throughout her life.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Bowles of Heath, Robert Maines of Wellington, Kentucky; sisters, Patricia Negele of Newark, Faye "Ann" (Fred) Rolf of Newark; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Raymond Bowen in 2009 and a brother Marvin Purvis.
Calling hours will be observed Friday from 11a.m. to 1p.m. at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street.
