Gerald C. Minnick's Obituary
Gerald C. Minnick, 89, of Nashport, Ohio died Thursday morning, December 12, 2013 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born June 15, 1924 in Nashport he was a son of the late Ralph J. and Mary E. (Cornell) Minnick and was a 1942 graduate of Nashport High School. He also attended Muskingum College and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. Gerald was a member of the Nashport-Irville United Methodist Church, a life member of the American Legion Post #756 of Hopewell, Ohio and a life member of Wakatomika Post #6193, V. F. W. in Frazeysburg. Mr. Minnick was a self-employed contractor and carpenter retiring in 1986. He enjoyed refinishing antiques.
Surviving is his sister, Evelyn Douglas of Sturgis, South Dakota and several nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Grace (Slusser) Minnick whom he married June 2, 1961 and who died March 7, 1998 and a brother, Gene E. Minnick who died October 4, 2010.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, December 16, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Mesnard officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery.
