George L. Myers' Obituary
A funeral service for George L. Myers, 86 of Croton will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Schieber and Rev. Torie Front officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
Mr. Myers died Tuesday at St. Ann Hospital, Westerville. He was born September 14, 1927 in Coshocton County to the late Lawrence and Sara “Millie” (Vermilion) Myers. A graduate of Union Local High School, Mr. Myers was a dedicated farmer. He was a member of the Ohio Dorset Breeders Association, the Farm Bureau Council #38, Land of Legend Antique Tractor Club, and a lifetime member of Licking County Sheep Improvement Committee. He was also a member of the Highwater Congregational United Church of Christ.
Survivors include daughter, Michelle (William) Parker of Croton; a grandson, Logan Parker; and many friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Freda I. (Ashcraft) Myers, August 14, 2007.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main St., Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Sheep Improvement Committee or the Hartford Fair Sheep Project; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
