George P. Cramer's Obituary
A funeral service for George P. Cramer, 81 of Newark will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jim Roma officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cramer died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born August 28, 1932 in Newark to the late Thomas and Frieda Cramer.
George retired after 23 years at Rockwell Manufacturing. He was a member of Local # 1037 UAW. He was a former firefighter and EMT for the Madison Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member of Cox United Methodist Church. He was a loyal fan to OSU and the Cleveland Browns. He was an avid Licking Valley fan, especially following all his grandchildren’s teams.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Charlotte (Lewis) Cramer, whom he married April 1, 1952; sons, George “Skip” (Debbie) Cramer of Granville, Greg (Beth) Cramer of Newark; grandchildren, Stacey (Doug) Kinney of Nashport, Travis (Amanda) Cramer of Newark, Tabetha Cramer & Josh Nethers of Newark, CheyAnn Cramer of Newark; great-grandchildren, Tyler Kinney, Dalton Anker, Logan Cramer, Talan Kinney; sister, Margie Kellenbarger of Heath; brother, Francis Cramer of Newark; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary L. Cramer in 1991; two sisters, Myrtle Thompson, Iva Greene; five brothers, Lawrence Cramer, Bill Cramer, Dick Cramer, Carl Cramer and Don Cramer.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday November 3, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
