George Duane Clark's Obituary
George Duane “Mousie” Clark, 76, of Newark, Ohio died Thursday morning, December 5, 2013 at his home.
Born September 5, 1937 in Fallsbury Township of Licking County he was a son of the late Lester and Mabel (Davis) Clark. Mr. Clark was an employee of Englefield Oil Company. He had previously retired from the Roper Corporation and from B. P. Oil Company. He was a member of Rocky Fork Church of Christ and the Moundbuilders Euchre League. For many years played on several softball leagues and he enjoyed sports of all kind. He also enjoyed attending car shows. One of his greatest enjoyments was simply spending time with his dog, “Trixie”.
Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Shirley Earlene (Rine) Clark whom he married June 10, 1966; a son, Jeff (Marlayna Staggers) Clark of Newark; a daughter, Kellie (Scott) Karns of Newark; seven grandchildren, Chase Lasko, Sebastian Clark, Robert Clark, Marcus Clark, Jayden Clark, Addy Karns and Paisley Karns; two brothers, Lewis (Emilee) Clark and Jack (Janelle) Clark, both of Newark; two sisters, Thelma Mills and Betty (Ray) Thompson both of Newark; a sister in-law, Carolyn Clark of Newark and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother W. Bernard Clark and a sister, Norma Davis
Calling hours will be 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the NEWARK CHAPEL of VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, December 9, 2013 at the funeral home with Minister Brian Priest officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Fork Cemetery.
