Freda L. Hunt's Obituary
A funeral service for Freda L. Hunt, 80 of Newark will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Community Wesleyan Church, 161 Myrtle Avenue with Pastor Chris Dyer and Pastor Zack Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mrs. Hunt died Friday May 29, 2015 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born March 27, 1935 in Licking County to Hobert H. and Della M. (Conley) Salyer.
Mrs. Hunt retired in 2014 as the office manager at the Licking Springs Trout and Golf Club with 27 years of service. She was a 40 year member of the Community Wesleyan Church, having served in various office capacities, taught Sunday School and involved with missions work. She was also a member of the Heart to Heart group. She supported her children and grandchildren in all their activities. She enjoyed gardening and baking. She was happiest mothering her family. When entertaining, she always planned for extras so that everyone was welcome.
She is survived by her children, Sheri Montgomery of Johnstown; Greg Hunt of Heath; grandchildren, Ashley Hunt, Amanda Hunt, Audrey, Hunt, Mitchell Montgomery; sisters, Grace Wilson, Ruth Mason, Nancy (Don) Clary all of Newark; brothers, Carl Salyer of Newark, Robert Salyer of Hot Springs, AK; many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Roger Montgomery; sisters, Elizabeth Plants, Edna Lowery; brothers, William Claude Salyer, Roy Clyde Salyer, Henry Salyer, Jr., John Salyer and James Salyer.
Calling hours will be observed Monday June 1, 2015 from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 West Main Street.
