Frances Eileen Preston's Obituary
Frances E. Preston, age 71 of Frazeysburg, passed away on May 9, 2025 at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland.
Frances was born on June 26, 1953, to the late Melvin and Catherine (Nethers) Garven, of St. Louisville, Ohio and a 1971 graduate of Utica High School. Frances married Roy on March 16, 1974. She retired from State Farm, spent many years volunteering, and taking care of her yard. She enjoyed time with her friends and family, visiting zoos, science experiment days, supporting robotics, and having meals together.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Rori (Eric) Leath, siblings, Ralph (Carol) Yoders, Carol Moulder, Richard (Christine) Garven, Mike (Sarita) Garven, Barb (Gary) Handshy, Cathy (Steve) Ratai, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Preston, sister, Mary Helton and her parents, Catherine and Melvin Garven.
Friends and family may call from 10:00am - 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 14 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Homes, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be held immediately following at the funeral home with Pastor Brandi Bailie officiating. Frances will be laid to rest with her husband Roy in the Frazeysburg Cemetery.
