Florence Sylvia Herbert's Obituary
Florence Sylvia Herbert, 92, of Nashport, Ohio, formerly of Granville, Ohio died Tuesday morning, February 21, 2017 at Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born May 27, 1924 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Sylvia (Simonar) Mullen. Mrs. Herbert was retired from Dennison University where she was a receptionist for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church of Granville and a member of the Granville Garden Club. She volunteered at Licking Memorial Hospital for many years and she enjoyed flower gardening and attending horseshows and horse racing with her daughter. Florence was a lady of great faith and was a 28 year survivor of breast cancer. Her greatest enjoyment was her family.
Surviving is one daughter, Rita (Jeff) Schuhart of Nashport; two sons, Dan Herbert of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Jim Herbert of Viet Nam; six grandchildren, Danielle Herbert, Jon Herbert, Ben Herbert, Zachary Herbert, Michael Schuhart and Amy Dull; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Mullen and Parker Mullen.
Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street. Calling hours will also be for one hour prior to the funeral service.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the funeral home with Msgr. Paul P. Enke officiating. Burial will be in Irville Cemetery at Nashport.
