Evelyn E. Waites' Obituary
A celebration of life service for Evelyn E. Waites, 91 of Newark will be held Thursday October 7, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Minister Eric Miller officiating. A visitation will be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Newark Memorial Gardens on Friday October 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
Mrs. Waites passed away on Sunday October 3, 2021 at the Inn at Chapel Grove, Heath, OH. She was born August 8, 1930 in Newark to Burton and Alberta (Cotterman) Roberts.
She was a homemaker, baker and cook happily preparing favorite dishes for each of her family. She and her husband enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and wintering in Florida and Arizona. She liked to color but her favorite past time was Bingo.
She is survived by her children, Becki Stalling, Joe Evans, Douglas (Holly) Waites, Randy Waites, Larry Waites (Debbie Melton) all of Newark; grandchildren, Tanya, Jeremy, Randy, Andy, James, Sethe, Nick, Sherri; twenty-five great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Richard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, P.J. “Junior” Waites in 2011; brother, John Westbrook; sister, Katherine Westbrook; grandson, Justin Stalling.
