Evelyn Ruth Hollingshead's Obituary
NEWARK: A funeral service for Evelyn Ruth Hollingshead, 79of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil& Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Foulk officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hollingshead passed away Friday at SharonBrooke in Newark. She was born April 9, 1933 in Guernsey Countyto the late Thomas and Iva (Lashley) Dement. A 1950 graduate of Senecaville High School, Mrs. Hollingshead worked asan Educational Aid for Licking Valley School District. She was a member of the Marne UnitedMethodist Church. She enjoyed fishingwith her late husband, quilting and writing poetry. She was devoted to her family. Those who knew her will recall her beautiful,contagious smile.
Survivors include her daughter, Marsha (Jerry) Hurt of Newark; sons,Jerry Hollingshead of Newark, Terry Hollingshead of Mohave Valley, AZ; granddaughters,Amber (Joshua) Pasternak, Ashley (Adam Buxton) Hurt of Columbus; andgreat-grandchildren, Wesley and Lillian Hurt.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,Hiram “Bing” Hollingshead, whom she married July 13, 1951 and who died December28, 2002; an infant son, Danny Hollingshead; and two sisters, Wilma Secrest andHelen Ridgway.
Friends and family may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice ofCentral Ohio or the Lewy Body Dementia Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeralhome.
