Eugene D. Vandenbusche's Obituary
NEWARK: A funeral service for Eugene D. Vandenbusche, 82 of Newark will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Vandenbusche died Monday, August 8, 2011 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born June 10, 1929 in Thornville to the late Octaaf J. and Deva F. (Starkey) Vandenbusche. A 1947 graduate of Glenford High School, Mr. Vandenbusche served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Rockwell International. Mr. Vandenbusche was a member of Second Baptist Church, the American Legion, V.F.W., Sportsman Clubs, and Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his daughters, Pamela (Dennis) Kerns of Newark, Kathryn Baldeschwiler of Newark, and Cheryl (Bill) Stewart of Columbus; grandchildren, Jennie (Tim) Morrison of Columbus, Billy (Erica) Sadowski of Bremerton, WA, Sarah (Shannon) Lewis of Newark, Joshua Stewart, Matthew Stewart, and Ashley Stewart, all of Columbus; great grandchildren, Hunter and Peyton; and a sister, Lorraine (Raymond) Gayheart of Groveport.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. Vandenbusche, whom he married December 27, 1950 and who died January 8, 2011; and an infant sister, Dixie K. Vandenbusche.
Friends and family may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m Friday, August 12, 2011 at VENSIL-ORR & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
