Ernest E. Cole's Obituary
Ernest Earl Cole, 86 of Heath, Ohio passed away on Wednesday May 17, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving and devoted family after a long and extended illness.
Born March 31, 1931 in Newark, Ohio to the late Ernest Cole, Sr. and Mamie L. Robinson. He was raised in Newark Ohio and attended Newark City Schools.
He loved his family, a warm compassionate man that would do anything for anybody and had a great relationship with God, a dedicated member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where he served in the music ministry and as a church nurse. Everyone knew him by his friendly smile, hugs, laughter and as a member of many bowling leagues in the past. He was a big fan of O.S.U football, basketball, Cleveland Browns and the Cavs. He was a US Army veteran (Korean War) a member of American Legion Post 85, UAW Local 1037, Licking County Veteran Alliance and retired from Rockwell International (Meritor).
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years Theola (Jones) Johnson Cole, two brothers, two sisters; daughters, Michele “Lynn’’ Ash, Charmaine(Vince) Moye; stepdaughters, Kim Byrd, Cheryl Hosea; son, Lorenzo (Christine) Cole; stepsons, Greg Johnson, Jeff Johnson 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his devoted pets Precious and Jake.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Hospice of Central Ohio and their compassionate care for Ernie during his illness and final hours at home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 383 Washington Street, Newark with Rev. Mario Williams officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
A visitation will be observed from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at the church.
