Emmett L. Harmon's Obituary
A funeral service for Emmett L. Harmon, 84 of Croton will be held Saturday July 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Burial will be in Glen Rest Cemetery.
Mr. Harmon died Monday July 20, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 13, 1931 in Belfry, KY to the late Lewis T. and Frances E. (Blackburn) Harmon.
Mr. Harmon retired after 30 years as the Distribution Manager for the City of Columbus, Division of Electricity. He was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge Neoacacia # 595 F & AM and attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Johnstown.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louise (Thompson) Harmon; children, Jeannie (John) deSaavedra of Pataskala, Patty Harmon of Dundee, OH, David (Susan) Harmon of Nicholasville, KY, Vickie (Don) McConnell of Apple Creek, OH, Roger (Cheryl) Harmon of Centerburg, OH; grandchildren, Andrew (Laura) deSaavedra, Alison deSaavedra, James Windle, Jennifer (Todd) Billingstein, Sara (Jimmy) Klotz, Amy Harmon, Joshua Harmon, Briana (Alex) Leimeister, Matthew McConnell, Bethany McConnell, Madison Harmon, Emmilee Louise Harmon; six great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy (Connie) Harmon of Lewis Center; sister, Bessie (Bill) Strawser of Columbus; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be observed Friday July 24, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 W. Main St. Newark.
