Elaine M. Manning's Obituary
A memorial service for Elaine M. Manning, 59 of Newark will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
Elaine died Saturday December 27, 2013 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born July 24, 1954 in Newark, Ohio to the late Robert L. and Ida P. (Sheats) Carter.
She is retired from Kaiser Aluminum as an inspector with 30 years of services. She was also employed by the Main Place and Washington Square. She was a 1973 graduate of Newark High School and had attended the Ohio State University. She also attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and Bethel Rock House of Prayer.
She is survived by her son, James "Eddie" McMillian of Newark; grandchildren, Ziha McMillian, MacKenzie McMillian, Skylar McMillian; brothers and sisters, Michael Nixon of California, Gwendolyn Iheme of Springfield, Robert (Joyce) Carter of Cleveland, Ruby Greene of Newark, Charles Carter of Columbus, Patrick Carter of Newark, Jasper Carter of Newark, Phillip (Sue) Carter of Newark, Phyllis Carter of Toledo; her best friend Glenn Hopkins of Newark; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Manning, October 2, 2004; sister, Malory Nixon; brothers, Larry Nixon, John Nixon and Steven Carter.
