Edward R. "Ed" White's Obituary
A memorial service for Edward R. “Ed” White, 65 of Newark, formerly of Rocky Mount, NC will be 2:00p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor David Pound officiating.
Ed was born March 4, 1951 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Robert E. and Helen (Martz) White. He was a 1969 graduate of Heath High School and a 1973 graduate of Ohio University. Ed had lived in Columbus, Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Granville and Newark. He worked in the computer software industry as an IT Manager.
Survivors include his sister, Robin (Bob) Guinsler; niece, Niki (David) Pound; nephew, Parker Guinsler; a great nephew, Cameron Pound and great niece, Cadence Pound; and a very special significant other, Shirley Harkess.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Naomi Rose White.
The family would like to thank all of his friends and relatives who came to visit him during his illness. A special thanks to Shirley Harkess and his best friend and cousin, Keith Kerns for being at his side during the last weeks of his life.
Friends and family may visit 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main St., Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to Generation Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
