Earl W. White's Obituary
A funeral service for Earl W. White, Sr., 84 of Newark will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Truth Tabernacle, 1371 Sportsman Club Road with Pastor Greg Sheets officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Mr. White died Saturday, August 4, 2018 at his residence. He was born August 18, 1933 in Delaware, OH to Earl A. and Mary A. (Hewitt) White.
Mr. White was a member of the Truth Tabernacle; and a member of American Legion Levi Phillips Post # 85 Newark and formerly St. Louisville Post # 804. He served in the U.S Amy during the Korean Conflict. He was a Purple Heart recipient and a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He loved tending to his garden and watching western movies. His favorite time was spent with family.
Mr. White is survived by his wife of 64 years, Naomi A. (Mitchell) White, whom he married on February 13, 1954; son, Milo A. (Roberta) White of Newark; step-sons, Jerry L. (Ginger) Hummel of Newark, Terry R. (Kim) Hummel of Texas; daughter-in-law, Patricia White; sister, Marguerite Foust of Delaware, OH; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Marvin V. White and Earl W. White, Jr.
Calling hours will be observed Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
