Dustin R. "Dusty" Swihart's Obituary
A funeral service for Dustin "Dusty" Swihart will be held Friday July 17th 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil and Chute Funeral Home.
Dusty passed away Saturday July 11th 2015 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 24th, 1987 in Zanesville Ohio.
He was a 2005 graduate of Licking Valley High School, where he was active in baseball and basketball. Dusty was employed by KDC Labs in New Albany where he made many friends and enjoyed his job. He also liked bow hunting, golfing and being outdoors. He loved football and was a huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts since playing on the Colts team in Biddy League football when he was younger. Dusty never met a stranger and made many friends in his lifetime. He loved his family, friends and children very much.
He is survived by his wife, Cara E. (Bare) Swihart; children, Camdyn, Titus and Vera; mother and stepfather, Mindy and Harry Derringer of Hanover; grandparents, Ron and Sue Barnes of Hanover; great grandmother, Mildred Carle of Newark; sisters, Lindsey (Brandon) Zigaceek, of Hanover, Mia Derringer of Newark; mother in law, Anita Bare of Newark; father in law, William Cornwell of Lancaster; aunts and uncles, including his uncle, father figure and friend Chad (Lisa) Barnes, Robert (Linda) Carle, Becky Carle, Debbie (Skip) Cramer, David Barnes, Gary (Carol) Barnes, Connie Bowen; cousins,
Jonathan (Lindsey) Carle, Derek (Leslie) Carle, Brandon (Sarah) Carle, Casey Carle, Ashley Carle, Gentry Carle, Timi Schrump, Stacey Cramer, Travis Cramer, Jeff Barnes, Wendy Barnes, Shelly Barnes; niece, Tylee Zigaceek; nephew, Trentin Zigaceek; furry friends, Indy, Peyton and Cookie.
He was preceded in death by great grandfather, John Carle; uncles, Ron “Mick” Carle, Mark Barnes; sister, Morgan Derringer.
Calling hours will be observed Thursday July 16th, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Vensil and Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street Newark.
