Dorvibel Tower's Obituary
A funeral service celebrating the life of Dorvibel Tower, 104 of Newark will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Tower died Monday at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born near East Liberty in Logan County, OH to the late Arthur Herbert and Viola Mae (Cripps) Williams. A 1932 graduate of Central High School, Columbus, Mrs. Tower worked as a secretary for the Newark City Schools for 21 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a founding member of the Candle Lighters group. Additionally, she was a member of the Newark Research Club, Coterie Club, and had been a violinist along with her late husband in the Licking County Symphony Orchestra.
Survivors include her sons, Tedd (Bev) Tower of Lancaster, Donn (Sandy) Tower of Thornville, Mark (Mendy) Tower of Westerville; grandchildren, Lisa Tower, Keith (Lorena) Tower, Kevin (Cindy) Tower, Lynne (Alex) Siegwein, Laura Tower, Thomas (Savannah) Tower, Corinne (Matt) Gompf, Melany Tower; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Russell L. Tower, whom she married April 7, 1940 and who died August 5, 1975; and four sisters.
Friends and family may call 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, 88 N. Fifth Street, Newark.
