Dorothy Marie Wells' Obituary
A Homegoing Service for Dorothy Marie Wells, 69 of Newark will be 1p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Bethel Rock House of Prayer with Rev. Reecior M. Puryear officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Wells passed Tuesday morning, June 13, 2023 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. She was born January 1, 1954 in Uriah, Alabama to the late Albert M. Puryear and Reecior (Riley) Puryear who survives.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Wells is survived by her children, Marcus Wells, Ebony Wells (Marlo Shaw), all of Newark; grandchildren, Ziah, Zamariah, Zada, Shalynn, CaMarcus, Karma, DayCain, Udaya, Daylin, Kamdin, and Kyson; a sister, Ann Puryear; a brother in-law, Charles Wells; nieces and nephews, Denae, Jeremy and Andrea; a biological uncle and many aunts; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband , Nicolas F. Wells; and a brother, Andrew Puryear
Friends and family may call two hours prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Rock House of Prayer, 219 E. Main Street, Newark.
