Doris "Dorie" Young's Obituary
Doris “Dorie” Young, 87 of Granville, formerly of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 19, 1928 in Lancaster, PA to the late D. Richard and Hilda K. (Johnson) Markley; Dorie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a Registered Nurse. She was an avid golfer and reader. Dorie enjoyed the New York Times crossword puzzle, classical music and traveling. She had visited all 50 states and several countries. She enjoyed her time as a docent at the Toledo Museum of Art. Above all, she loved her family and cherished time spent with them.
Survivors include her loving husband, James J. Young, who she married June 13, 1953; her children, Joan (David) Trautman of Granville, Philip (Cherri) Young of Centerville; grandchildren, Austin Young, Jake Young, Ben Trautman, Will Trautman and Karen Trautman; a brother, Daniel (Marie) Markley; and a daughter in-law, Martha Young.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, David Young and Daniel Young.
Services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio or the charity of the donor’s choice.
