Doris M. Furbee's Obituary
A funeral service for Doris M. Furbee, 90 of Heath will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Gus Andrews officiating. Burial will be in the Pataskala Cemetery.
Mrs. Furbee died Saturday November 23, 2013 at her residence. She was born May 26, 1923 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio to the late Russell and Florence (Gillespie) Eckels.
Mrs. Furbee retired in 1975 as a cook at the Pataskala Elementary School with 22 years of service. She was a member of the Licking Valley Church of Christ and had served as a door greeter for a number of years. She was a graduate of Kirkersville High School. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years. Robert Furbee, whom she married on November 8, 1961; son, Russell Ebright of Heath; great-grandsons, Blake Dupler, Nathan Dupler; nieces, Judy Casto of Buckeye Lake and Patty Sassman of Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles "Chuck" Ebright; daughter, Rita May Mathews; sister, Jane Moore; granddaughter, Alicia Dupler.
Calling hours will be observed Monday from 6 pm to 8 pm and Tuesday from 10 am to 11 am at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
